Pilates is an exercise system devised by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century as a method for stretching, strengthening and stabilising key muscles. It is a slow, relaxed and precise exercise which can be carried out by nearly everyone, and is especially beneficial for those with poor posture, those involved in sports and those wishing to improve general mobility.
I am a physiotherapist and qualified pilates instructor based in Ashwell, Herts, and am running weekly pilates sessions based at the Ashwell Village Hall. These classes are open to all, regardless of age or ability, and the program is tailored to those in attendance.
